four years later I still like this on my Leedy, I just saw a bunch of Chicago Drum Co. snares at the St. Louis drum show and the use this on most of the snares they produce. they do dis-assemble them, lube them, and add a spring to the screw shaft between the knob and slider to prevent slipping. I haven't needed to do this, but I may try it.
