I ended up with this product as default since it came as standard on a George Way snare. Having seen pictures, my thoughts before the drum arrived were that I'd replace it. However, having used it for a while now, I am starting to wonder how snare mechanisms ever got to being so complicated. This little thing really is super, and it does the job of a strainer with no fuss. Changing snares is also so easy. I would highly recommend it.
