Wow! I first off want to say that I do not normally write reviews on products, but this products absolutely deserves it! I put this hoop on a rather inexpensive 14x8 snare with cheap heads, hoops and snares. The first thing I did was put on some new high-end Evans batter and reso heads and new Puresound super 30 snare wires. I had the hardest time tuning and getting out those aweful overtones. Sure enough the cheap super thin and flimsy batter side hope that literally bent after a few rim shots was the issue. I put this new 3.0 mm triple flange hoop on and within about 5 minutes of tuning each tension rod had noticeable even tension, the awful overtones were COMPLETELY ELIMINATED and the drum tuned up perfectly! My snare now has a huge bottom end with lots of attack and a beautifully tastefully controlled sound, not to mention that the cross stick is super articulate now and cuts through a mix like butter! Also the tuning range of my snare is now fully unlocked without worrying about the hoop buckling under the pressure of higher tunings! THIS HOOP IS AWESOME!
