I've got the 6.5 x 14 version. The only negative is figuring out where the center of the snare bed is. The snare beds are _REALLY_ wide, like the non-bed area is about 6" of the circumference (_ 42") on each side or something. IME, put the snare butt centered on the outer ply's seam and you should be fine. The finished snare sounds great. I'm only taking a star off because because of the amount of time/effort it took me to confirm the location of the snare bed. I'm really happy with every other aspect of this shell.
