I thought it was impossible to find bass drum heads that give me a sound I could use for ALL types of music. Been playing over 50 years, tried every type of bass drum head with and without additional muffling. Never achieved the deep, punchy but open sound I wanted.
This Deep Vintage II is the answer for me. I combined it with Aquarians RSM reso head, no pillow or additional muffling. It has a deep vintage sound for sure, but loud and punchy enough for rock, R & B, etc. Feels great to play, too. Love this head, highly recommend.
