Sweet shell! I added S Hoops to this with an Evans UV2 batter and this snare is my favorite of the 5 that I have. My PDP Concept Maple kit came with a snare and this 6.5" makes the snare that came with the kit sound like a toy.
I use a few moon gels to control the overtones but I have it dialed in to where I still get a sweet ring. The depth provides a nice fat booming tone and mix that with a slight ring and it is just incredible. A buzz roll on this is also quite incredible.
I just ordered the 8x14 shell because of how much I love the 6.5". I guess I'm just trying to make enemies of my neighbors! :-}
