This segment shell snare drum comes with chrome over brass classic tube lugs, Nickel Drumworks strainer and butt plate, Canopus 20 strand snare wires, triple flange hoops, a die cast threaded air vent grommet and new Aquarian Texture Coated batter and Classic Clear snare side single ply drumheads.

Koa is one of the premier tonewoods and is rare and expensive; this drum was crafted using ecologically sensitive plantation grown koa. It is less dense than maple yeilding a darker sound and great attack, a very crisp and articulate tone with plenty of meaty warmth.  Records very well without any fuss, mic it up and it's ready to go! This will quickly become your favorite workhorse snare drum.

The woods used in this snare drum are all darker sounding than maple, willow being the least dense and softest. This drum is warm and super fat with lots of tone and no unpleasant over-ring and great articulation for such a dark sounding drum. The king of the fatbacks! If you are looking for a new snare drum with a vintage vibe, look no further. Records very well and sounds great with a mic or acoustic. It has a nice tuning range and fairly large sweet spot. This is one of the owners' personal favorites! It was never taken out to a gig and was always stored in a case. There are a couple of very small scratches that are hardly noticeable.

All Global Drum Company shells are made to within +/-.005" when they come off of the lathe and since they are machined from boards they will never go out of round. The bearing edges, snare beds and hardware holes are cut on our state-of-the-art custom built CNC (computer controlled) machine. The CNC machine has incredibly tight tolerances for the flattest and truest bearing edges and snare beds and most accurately drilled holes in the market. The logo is engraved into the shell with this CNC machine and filled with white marine pearl paint.
